SHADORMA

 WHAT IS SHADORMA ??

The poetic form Shadorma , originated in Spain , consists of a six line stanza (seset) . We can say it is a very contagious and addictive ancient syllabic ,  Spanish poetry form . 

FORMAT OF SHADORMA :

There can any number of stanzas. And there is no restriction on rhyming scheme .

EXAMPLE OF SHADORMA : 

"Miss Shadorma"



She throws birds

at the school children

on playgrounds

made of steel

who run intense spirals to

the chain-link fencing.


Sad teachers

watch as they spiral

into air

like reverse

helicopter seeds searching

for their maple trees.

TIPS FOR WRITING A SHADORMA : 



● Its a haiku like Spanish poem with one or more stanzas of six lines . 

● Syllabic pattern is 3/5/3/3/7/5 . 

● No restrictions or rules on rhyming scheme . You may use rhyming or not , doesn't matters .

● No restrictions on number of stanzas . 

● No particular length for title . 




Shadorma brings forth a new challenge into the literal world for poets and writers . This form is also used as a writing exercise and in creative writing challenges . Its simple to get used to .and gives elegant results . Writers also link multiple Shadormas to experiment something newer .
