THE FIB
What is The Fib?
Fibonacci poetry which is shortly known as ‘The fib’ is one of the new poetic forms. It is a multiple-line verse based on the Fibonacci sequence so that the number of syllables in each line equals the total number of syllables in the preceding two lines. This form of poetry was founded by Gregory K.Pincus in 2006.
How to write The Fib?
Firstly, a fibonacci sequence begins with either 0 or 1, followed by one and proceeds based on the rule that each number is equal to the sum of the preceding two numbers. Here the number represents the number of syllables in the line.
-The first line in a Fibonacci poem has no syllables, and therefore constitutes a moment of silence.
-The second and third line have one syllable each. Then it is followed with 2 syllables and goes on.
-There is no limit in the number of lines and there is no need of splitting the lines into stanzas. Most importantly, there is no rhyme scheme used.

As mentioned, the fibonacci sequence is followed throughout. This poem has 6 lines in total. There is no rhyme pattern used here.
Tips to write a Fibonacci poem:
Focus on the fibonacci sequence and use the words accordingly.
There is another variation in this where the number of syllables ascend and descend.
Fibonacci poetry is a modern form of poetry and requires a good knowledge about mathematics. For poets who are great mathematicians, this is going to be interesting and fun. Try our other blogs to improve your already awesome poetry! Keep Writing!
