Why and how can writing make us feel light?
Just like we love learning new styles of expressing ourselves, some with rules, some without; at a point of time, we also wonder if writing really helps or not and if it does, then why and how does it?
Well, writing does help to most, won't say it helps everyone. To most it helps because people may or may not express their true feelings out on the paper, yet the creative timepass helps them distract from any cause that might have resulted in a mood swing. It also helps us to navigate words that are lost in the infinite number of compartments in our brains and can help open channels for logic, thinking, creativity, etc and hence increase our interest in the seemingly boring world.
When we write a poem, we frame our expression, feelings, and thoughts, in an organised and structured format. The few lines which express our deep thoughts form pictures in the mind of readers, and writing is indeed feelings expressed by words (which many don't find possible). It's alright to break rules, it's a new style, it's alright to not put a title, it's still the"poem" that matters.
Poetry is not explained by how we perfectly follow syllables or lines, follow rhyme schemes, etc. Poetry is first, the expression of what you cannot and might not be willing to say directly. It may be an idea, or a heart quilled on paper or, whatever it is, you have written it and it thus is special. Really special!
Keep writing, dear poet!
Warm regards
